Housing inventory is low throughout Florida and also in Americana Cove. The Florida Realtor
Association attributes the lack of inventory to the following reasons:
1. Low interest rates are attractive to people who have been renting and are deciding to purchase.
2. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many sellers to delay putting their homes on the market thus attributing to the lack of inventory.
3. There are still people moving into the state who need housing and want to buy.
According to Realtor.com, the number of buyers and lack of homes for sale has resulted in high home prices even amid a recession and a pandemic.
Currently, Barefoot Realty has only six homes for sale at Americana Cove, one of the lowest
inventory amounts since opening an office in the community in 2013. “We see homes sell in one day especially if they are already updated and have new or almost new roofs, central air and flooring,” explains Broker Marty Pozgay. For sellers, now’s the time to take advantage of the low inventory as it could result in a quicker sale and higher price.
